Crow Vegetable FarmsThe Crow family have been growing fresh fruits and vegetables since 1987 when they started with 5 acres of watermelons and cantaloupe and an acre of assorted vegetables. Their two sons grew up farming, paid for their college education with farming and have now re-joined the family operation. Currently they grow 40 acres of assorted produce. In December of 2006, they purchased Stratford Greenhouses that consist of 9 greenhouse in which two are home to their hydroponic tomato production which helps them produce year-round. The quality of their produce is perfection in flavor, look and freshness. They currently market their produce at three farmers markets, the main street market (small year-round produce store) in Shawnee, and recently started growing for the Shawnee School District through the Farm to School Program. Claudia will often be found in the classroom talking to students about where their food comes from and what their farm does.
